Many of our residents enjoy gardening or simply appreciating gardens. We therefore arrange visits to gardens of particular interest, garden centres and occasionally National Trust properties.
We arrange a variety of musical entertainment from Orchestras to String Quartets to Ukulele Bands.
Our Cook uses the seasons to have tasting sessions for jams, preserves and drinks using fruit from our gardens.
We have a grand piano which residents and their families are welcome to use at any time. It has been known for resident’s grandchildren to play and sing to the residents.
Winchester College Boys entertain us with music and amusing ditties.
Choirs from St Swithun’s Girls and Princess Mead School come to sing to the residents.
We produce a Monthly Newsletter of planned activities and includes information on the gardens and works in progress.
Making use of the large screen and loop system in our Drawing Room, we encourage residents to tell us if there are any DVD’s they would like us to obtain. Viewing is usually accompanied by a comfort break for tea.
